What are 3 types of steroids?

Jul 17 2020

Steroids are 3 types of hormones:
1. Anabolic androgenic steroids - such as testosterone that builds muscle and
masculinize (hair, deep voice, sex).
2. Glucocorticosteroids - such as cortisone or prednisone that are anti-inflammatory or
immunosuppressants used in edema, rash, asthma, or bronchitis.
3. Mineralocorticosteroids - such as vasopressin that is produced
adrenal glands for salt and water regulation.

How do steroids work?

Steroids act on androgen receptors on certain cells, including muscle cells increased tissue production. Steroids also block the effects of cortisol, catabolic, or muscle-destroying hormone. Exercise increases androgen availability receptor sites. Steroid use should be combined with exercise for increase muscle size and strength. The purpose will saturate these receptors places. Some users will add steroids, use
combined, often oral and injectable. Others will be pyramids cycling increases, then the dose decreases by 6-18 weeks and time without use to save receptors are sensitive and avoid collisions that occurs with an acute stop of steroids.

What are the differences between oral and injectable steroids?

Oral steroids must be absorbed intestines, and then metabolized in the liver. Muscle steroids are usually absorbed more slowly and bypass the liver. Do not share needles! HIV and other viruses can be transmitted from one man another way.

What are the benefits?

May increase muscle mass and strength, mobilize fat reserves and increase
erythropoiesis (red blood cells).

What are the risks?

1. There is an increased risk of joint injuries because an increase muscle mass is not accompanied corresponding increase in tendon, ligament, or joint size or strength. Steroids can weaken tendons. The faster the weight gain, the higher risk of injury.

2. Positive urine tests - half-life steroids vary from person to person, therefore
they can stay in your body and come up positive.

3. Side effects - usually go away after steroids leave your body.
