Is there a safe dosage?

Jul 2 2020

Although lower, well-calculated doses of AAS may be significantly safer than the uncontrolled doses associated with abuse, no studies have compared the safety of different doses of steroids.

Synthetic testosterone is also used to treat people with low testosterone levels called testosterone replacement therapy (TRT).
TRT is generally safe for men with low testosterone when prescribed by a doctor. Data for determining TPT safety for women are insufficient
Higher doses commonly used in athletics and strength sports are associated with an increased risk of side effects and cannot be considered safe.
Regardless of the dose, taking AAS is always risky.

Although lower controlled doses associated with testosterone replacement therapy are generally considered safe for men with low testosterone levels, taking steroids in any amount can be a health hazard. More serious side effects are observed at higher doses.

Other types of steroids

While AAS is the most commonly discussed type of steroid, there is another variety called glucocorticoids or corticosteroids. These are natural hormones produced in the adrenal glands located in the upper part of the kidneys.
They serve as a feedback mechanism in your immune system that regulates inflammation. Synthetic versions are often used to treat certain conditions caused by a hyperactive immune system, including:
-allergies
-asthma
-autoimmune diseases
-sepsis

Although they work well to control certain diseases, they can cause several side effects, such as high blood sugar and weight gain. For this reason, they are reserved only for moderate and severe inflammatory conditions.

Corticosteroids are another type of steroid that is naturally produced in your body and helps regulate inflammatory immune processes. Synthetic forms are used to reduce inflammation in many autoimmune diseases.

Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS)

Anabolic-androgenic steroids (AAS) are a synthetic form of testosterone used to increase muscle mass and strength.
Although their health risks vary depending on the type and amount of drug taken, they can be dangerous and cause side effects at any dose.
This is why using AAS is a very serious solution.
